Today is cluster headache awareness day.

The Lyrics to “The Last Dance” are based on my personal experience of living with cluster headaches for more than 30 years.
The Last Dance (Lyrics):
Fear filled shadows, clawing in the night,
Sweat slick skin, the pulse of frantic fright.
Pain erupts, a scream that pierces the night,
A nightmare’s grip, holding me tight.Teeth bite down, they crack beneath the strain,
Flames ignite, the pressure builds again.
“No more!” I howl, “don’t pull me back in!”
“No… not again!” the darkness wins. One more night, the torment’s cruel refrain,
Enslaved, I wait… again, again, again.
The beast roars, the darkness never wanes,
In this eternal dance, I long for change.Head bowed low, shoulders crushed by weight,
Hands numb, the skull a hollow gate.
“Why?” I scream, the silence answers cold,
Relief denied, the reason never told.Dark fingers pierce my eye, my temple, my jaw,
Teeth ripped, burned, before they fall.
“Please, no more,” I howl, I plead,
“Forgive me,” I beg the void, “For sins unknown.”Slipping past, the night devours,
Hands numb, skull crushed by power.
“Please,” I beg, “let death be the release,”
Answer is silence, cloaked in darkness, no relief.Tears cascade, a single drop,
Falling hard, the cold floor becomes my rock.
Exhausted, I vow to never close my eyes,
For fear of dancing once more, forever tied.Falling, exhausted, I rise again,
Fear of the dance, a cursed refrain.
Alone, enslaved, the night returns,
One more time, the fire still burns. One more night, the torment’s cruel refrain,
Enslaved, I wait… again, again, again.
The beast roars, the darkness never wanes,
In this eternal dance, I long for change. One more time…
One more time…
The Last Dance…
One more time…
